If you're tired of wines that taste like simple fruit punch, I'm your savior. I bring a sophisticated mix of acidity and spice that wakes up your palate. My flavors aren't just sweet jam. They're herbs, spices, and red berries all dancing together. I'm the spark that turns a boring blend into something electric and memorable.

Why maybe not

I'm fussy

I'm rot-prone

I'm vegetal

I'll admit I can be a bit of a diva in the vineyard. If it rains just a little too much, I tend to panic and rot. Sometimes, if the growers don't tame my wild growth, I turn green and vegetal instead of fruity. I require patience and a very specific climate to show my best side.

When drinking, notice this

Herbaceous notes

Bright acidity

Red berries

You will likely spot my signature freshness immediately. I carry a distinct perfume of raspberries mixed with black tea and fresh herbs. My structure is firm but not overwhelming, usually offering a nice backbone of acidity that keeps things lively. I don't do heavy or flabby. I'm all about tension and aromatic lift.

MY LIFE STORIES

Roots in the Heat

Roots in the Heat

I was born in the sweltering heat of Portugal, specifically finding my footing in the Douro and Alentejo regions. For centuries, I've been a silent partner in some of the world's most famous fortified wines and table reds. People often call me Tinta Amarela up north, but down south, I prefer my classic name. I've always been the local favorite who refuses to leave the country, preferring the dry Iberian sun over traveling the world.

A Fragile Existence

A Fragile Existence

My relationship with the weather is complicated. I absolutely loathe the rain because my skin is delicate and prone to falling apart at the first sign of moisture. To compensate for my fragility, I grow leaves like a maniac. My growers have to constantly trim my vines back, or else I'll spend all my energy on foliage rather than ripening my precious berries. It is a constant battle for attention, but I think I'm worth the effort.

Being a solo artist isn't usually my main gig, although I'm getting better at it. I shine brightest when I'm hanging out with my friends like Aragonês. While they bring the body and alcohol, I bring the perfume and the acidity to keep the wine from feeling heavy. Think of me as the squeeze of lemon and dash of pepper on a rich steak. I make the whole meal complete without needing to be the center of attention.
