REVIEW
Dark garnet color. This bad boy really needed some air. Restrained nose with some red fruit and very interesting licorice that lingered there for some time, but eventually was gone. It was replaced by pine, red fruit, a hint of dried cranberry and strawberry juice. Bone-dry and with uncontrollable tannins, mid-high acidity. Earthy palate with a hint of super dry strawberry syrup, but it lacked more character and precision. Pine needle aftertaste. It’s a more complex wine you have to be patient with and be willing to explore, but after 2-3 hours it gets pretty interesting.

THE WINERY
Jean-René Germanier has been the anchor of Vétroz since 1896, largely because they staged a massive rescue mission for Cornalin before it could ghost the wine world for good. Instead of watching heritage grapes fade into history, they turned them into Valais icons while planting Syrah and Amigne on slopes so steep a mountain goat would think twice about visiting. Each bottle captures a genuine, crisp Alpine atmosphere.

After 12 months in stainless steel tanks, this Bio Suisse certified bottling finally escapes the cellar. It is built on a foundation of alluvial deposits, slate, and glacial moraine sourced from the right bank of the Rhône river.
